Embossed Butterflies

I made this card using the darice corner embossing butterfly folder and the 12 inch border butterfly also from Darice. The card is a 6 x 6, I did add some liquid pearls on the butterfly back for alittle definition on the butterflies.  Always remember when doing the  6 x 6 cards they will have to be hand stamped as they do cost alittle more to mail and they will jam the postal machines if not handstamped. These  folders can be got at AC Moore.

Smelling like a rose

While in a local goodwill the other week I came across a package of gorgeous invitation cards for a shower.  The wheels started turning in my head as to how I could use these cards they were just to pretty to leave there on the shelf.  So they came home with me and this is my creation from my goodwill find.  I cut the embossed image off the card, and I also used one of my new 12 inch border embossing folders from Darice called lace added some ribbon and some small flowers, & pearls, card base is 6 x 6.  Now I can say I have a new trash to treasure.  I just love these yellow roses.  Thanks for popping in and remember someone else's trash might be your treasure.

Blooming Roses

Just a little enabling today.  WHile I was in AC Moore this week I came across some new merchandise in their quilling section. I have never really been to much into the quilling but it gorgeous art work when done.  I was looking an came across something that I knew I would use over and over again so with coupon in hand off I go with my new goodies.  They are made by Quilled Creations, the first is a package of roses cut in small, med and large all you do is roll and you have over 120 roses in four colors.

The 2nd and 3rd kind of go together, they are the cutting pads along with the dies in small med and large.

While you can make flowers with the spellbinder dies, and the cricut cartridge FLower shoppe, Art Philsophy and many others these are great grab quick alternatives to pulling your machines out.  I do like the small size too.
So just remember when life gets so busy every now and then you have to stop and smell the roses.

Queen Bee

I just had to do another Out of Character Card,  My daughter gave me a bracelet that said queen bee on it for my birthday so that is kind of what inspired me for this card.  Glad to know she thinks I'm the Queen Bee. LOL (Or maybe she was just trying to swell my head).  The card is a 6 x 9, I used the Tim Holtz Honeycomb embossing folder for the background, cut the Queen at 4.5 inches, the Bee is from Art Noueau cut at 3.5 inches and the ribbon is from my good friend Barbie from the cricut board.  She is a Stampin Up rep and sent me a few samples of the ribbon, I really like the polka dot. So if you need any stampin up give her a shout on the board.  Bee is also put on an action wobble.  Thanks for buzzing by today, would love to hear  your thoughts on  my Queen Bee.

Out of CHaracter

This is a cart that I was not really fond of at first.  Had issues with it to start but then figured it was just operator error.  I'm sure others have had days like that too.  I have several people that I know with birthdays coming up soon so thought I would try my hand at the birthday.  I cut the image at 4.5, used a MS cupcake punch for the bottom and card is a 5 x 7.  Also used the cuttlebug cut & emboss folder for the small tag that says birthday, those are great too, you run it through one time it cuts and embosses all at the same time.  Thanks for stopping in today.

********************************************************************************
While this was done as a challenge, Just let  me say it is great to have a crafting buddy by your side.  They will give you praise when you do a good job, they will give you constructive critism when needed and they are always there when you need that special item.  This is my crafting buddy Lorraine and we were at a weekend crop together when this picture was taken.  We actually met through the cricut message board and hit off being friends from the very start.  We shop together, bounce ideas off each other, chat about everyday life and our husbands became friends also.

Funny thing was when we first decide to meet our children were very concerned that their moms were meeting strange people from the internet and gonna go hang out together.  What do we tell our children don't talk to strangers and never meet anyone that you talk to on the internet.  Great examples we are.
While we did meet at a crop, so we were there with other strangers I think our friendship has been great.  Thanks for being a partner in crime.  Thanks for looking at my cricut challenge and wish me luck.  I sure would like that $200, I could do some more shopping. Maybe even throw any something for one of  my followers.

Summer Stroll

Hello followers and visitors, thanks for stopping by today.  Today's card is something that I have been playing around in my head for a few days.  I actually used  7 cartridges to make this one card.  I think she is gorgeous.  I can't give you exact measurements as I created most of it in Cricut Craftroom so you are able to strech and resize things alittle to your liking.

For starters the card is a 6 x 9, Girl came from Art Nouveau pg 49, one of my favorites, Tree is from Heritage pg 24, fence is from Heritage also stretched to fit card properly, Cats are squeezed into a 1 inch square in CCR they are from Kate's ABC pg 36, Birds are from Floral Embellished pg 61-63 same as the cats they were squeezed to fit in a 1 inch space, Birdbath is from 3 Birds on Parade pg 74, Grass came from Everyday Paper Dolls pg 77 also stretched just alittle, and I used the free Banners image for the heading, Inked the sky and tree, used liquid glass for the water in birdbath and a stamped sentiment from CTMH - Art Philosophy stamp sets.  Grass and lady are pop dotted for elevation on the card. Inside of card just has a couple of layered mats and a space for greeting.  Thanks for looking.

Happy Holidays with Old St Nick

Thanks for stopping in to see my next Christmas card using the A Quilted Christmas, if you haven't seen this cart thats ok I have a video showing all the images.  You will love it as much as I do when you see it.  I like the fact that PC has come out with some carts that are more grown up instead of so many kiddie carts, don't get me wrong I love them too.  Just nice to see more elegant images.  This card I used the card feature but left it opened instead of folding in half.  I cut image at 5.75.  I used a 6 x 9 card base.  Used my MS Cherished border punch added a little ribbon and the Happy Holidays is actually a gift tag I got on clearance last year, though the colors went well with it.  Snowflakes are buttons.  The santa actually has a piece of paper behind it that I ran through the xyron and added glitter for alittle more pop.  Thanks for stopping in, hope I have given you some inspiration to start on your Christmas cards too.

Baby Jesus

What reminds you of Christmas more than the baby Jesus.  It brings a sense of peace just seeing that baby lying there in the manger.

I'm having so much fun with this new cart A quilted Christmas, I just love the images.  I used the manger on page 49 cut at 4.5 inches, I used the silhouette image.  I also used the Inspired Heart for the word Jesus.  Card base is 6 x 8 in order to get image to fit.  The ribbon is gathered that came from Hobby Lobby and some little pink bows were from my stash.  I did glitter the bottom of the manger.  The inside I used different size mats and the wording I just typed on my computer and cut out with the spellbinder die Lattice Retangles.  Thank you for stopping by to look at my Christmas in July Cards.  More to Come so make sure you come back and feel free to leave comments, I love hereing from my followers and I love new followers to so if you aren't a follower  please sign on to  follow my blog.

Christmas In July

Christmas is coming!  Christmas is coming!  We only have 163 days left till Christmas, got get busy making the Christmas cards.  IF you guys are like me sometimes you wait till the last minute to make your CHristmas cards so I decided for once I'm gonna try and be ahead this year and have them done early.  Wish me Luck. Last year I waited so late that not everyone got one of my homemade cards, while I thought to myself they won't really notice if it is store bought and little to my surprise everyone was asking wheres my card, you gave store bought cards this year, that made me feel very special that they look forward to my cards.  So For the next 2 weeks I will be making several different Christmas cards so please check back often to see whats new.

Today's card was made using a new cartridge called A Quilted Christmas, I love all the detail and designs on this cartridge, I see this being used alot.  I like making 6 x 6 cards that is what my base card is I then cut the image at 5.5 image is on page 29, I also used the Martha Stewart branch punch for my garland, orange and red stickles for the flames on candles and berries on garland, The gingerbread men, wreath, stockings, and small trees are buttons.  You can find so many unique items too enhance your cards or layouts in the pre-packaged button section at your local craft store.  (Don't forget to invest in a shank remover for like $5-6, makes cutting the backs off super easy and no chance of cutting fingers with a knife).  Stamp sentiment is from CTMH.  Thanks for looking and be sure to come back.

A Little Birdie Told Me

Good morning, after being gone for a few weeks to visit my daughter in FL I'm back home now and so ready to start playing with my goodies that I got at the Great American Scrapbook Convention. My buddy Lorraine and I have gone for the last 3 years and we always have a good time.  We also share alot of the same taste in our stamps and other scrapping things, while she mainly does cards I do alittle of it all, from cards to scrapbooking to altered projects.  But lately seems I have been doing more cards.  Well here's my card that I made using the stamp by Heartfelt Creations called Cardinal Posy, I also used the HC custom die called decorative oval window.  Colored with copics, added stickles, some pearls and glitter pens.  The get well was punched out of a sheet that I got that had 30 different sayings from the flower soft company, these were a great find at a dollar they had them on clearance and I thought perfect no stamping just punch and add to cards, they came with Happy Birthday, Best wishes, Just to say, With Love, Thinking of you, Get Well & Just for you, all the perfect greetings that could be used on many occasions.  Hope you like and thanks for popping in today, feel free to leave a comment I love reading your thoughts on my projects.

Roses are in bloom

While my daughter had surgery  I had time on my hands to do alittle coloring, so I took advantage of the time.  Even though I had time to color some images I forgot to bring extra paper pads to have choices so while I've been in Florida I had to do alittle shopping for some paper.  These were stamped with the Just rite stamps and colored with copics.  I used pop dots for elevation on my roses, and glitter pens to highlight the roses.  I did enjoy making these and I then gave the ones I made to my daughter to send out as thank you cards for all the wonderful people that brought meals to her family while we were here even though she can't eat solid foods.  Thanks for taking alook at a few simple cards.  Hard to make cards sometimes when you have little tools to do what you envision.
