Lets go Muddin

This card is done for my son in law, as he loves to go muddin.  He has a truck that he has put 36 inch tires on  and is currently restoring.  The grandkids love to ride in daddy's big truck so since his birthday is coming I decided to make him this truck from Fathers Day cricut cartridge for the front of his birthday card, I used tinfoil taped to a piece of cardstock and then embossed for the silver diamond plate look.  Hope he likes it and I know hes looking forward to finishing his truck one of these days so he can take it out muddin.  Thanks for stopping by today.

Some of my Christmas Cards

I used the Anna Griffin Christmas card set to make most of these cards, fairly quick and super  easy. Since I'm trying to be alittle a head of the game this year and get all my cards done early.  I made 2 of each card tonite. This was a pretty cool kit as it had all the pieces were already cut to size so it was just having to put them together. Sorry some of my pictures didn't turn out that great I didn't have all my lighting set up. Thanks for stopping in today.

Poinsetta Ornament Card

Todays card was made with one of the poinsetta ornaments from Walmart they are 97 cents and come in some pretty colors like pink, red, purple, blue and silver.  The card base is a 5 x7 card, I also used the Spellbinders die Resplendent Rectangles the 2 largest dies for the red and white background, I then used the 2nd from the smallest for the smaller red piece and then used one of the tags from Fancy tags 2, stamped Merry Christmas with a dollar stamp from Michaelspopped it up & added a bow and some brads for alittle in the center.  I did cut the poinsetta apart and glued it down.  Thanks for looking and now I'm one card closer to having my cards done.

Halloween Cascade Card

Today's card was one that I saw done and thought how cute but probably difficult to do, but I decided to give it a shot.  Turned out to be super easy to make, took me longer to decorate the card and add my patterned paper than it did to make the card.
What you need for this card is 1 piece of paper cut at 81/2 x 12,   You will then make a mark at 51/2 down to 3 inches.  This will be your cut line you do not have to draw a line just make a few little marks (but if you do pencil your line you will have to go back and erase).  After it is cut you will then score at  the 2, 4, 8 & 10,  make a very fine mark at 6 but not an actual score.  Now you will go back and make a fine pencil mark at 23/4 down to 11/2,  On your score line you will now cut one piece on the bottom at 2 & 10, up to your line, then cut at the fine line at 6 from top down to line should be cut half way on each cut, do the same for the other piece but cut from the top at 2 and 10 and from the bottom at 6.  Fold your card and you will then slide the cut pices into each other.  Use your scorer to press down the folds. Then decorate as you see fit with your cricut cuts, extra 3d stickers you have laying around or just have fun with it. I did mine just alittle different than the lady on this video but this is an excellent video showing you how it will go together.  http://www.frenchiestamps.com/2012/02/cascading-card-easy-way.html
When I finished with the card I actually let out a squeal cause I couldn't beleive I actually did it and it turned out great on my first try.  Hubby was in the room and was wondering why I was so happy.  Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Halloween.

Thinking of you

This card was super quick to make, its not very elaborate but I just love the pink and brown butterfly paper so I wanted to do real simple.  The scallopped bottom edge is done with the MS Cherish punch and I did 4 layers alternating the colors, the ribbon is from my SU friend Barbie it matched perfect, and the thinking of you sentiment is from a set of preprinted cutouts, I also cut one of the butterflies from the paper to pop dot on the ribbon.  Gonna send this to a friend who is having a rough time just to let her know I'm thinking of her.

Triple Layer Stamping Technique

I saw this card on pinterest and thought the technique looked fun so here is my attempt at this card.  I used just a random stamp that I had laying on my desk,Black mat sizes are card base cut at 51/2 x 81/2 folded in half, 31/4 x 41/2 and 21/4 x 31/2 White cardstock was cut at 2 x 31/4, 3 x 41/4, 4x51/4.  Stamped my images.  You can see the  video  how this is done at Dawn Olchefske's triple layer stamping technique,  Added some ribbon and stickpin and button, I think I will be making more of these with different stamps.  Thanks for stopping by today.

New decor for my room

While I started out with purple and white I have realized that it is a hard color to work with so I have been gradually making changes to my room decor, I am noow going with black, white, and bright green so that things look alittle bit more polished and not so much random odd stuff.  The first project I attempted was making some matching new covers for my machines, I did the first one for the E2 and then the mini cover I did also.  While sewing is noot my strongest strength I think they turned out pretty good, I'm happy and so excited with the way they look.

My next project I attempted was another pin cushion this time.  I saw this on pinterest and so I had to give it a try. Here is the link to see if and get the pattern From thediydish.com.  These are so fun to make.  I gave the blue one to a dear friend for always being there whether it is an ear to listen or a hand to pitch it in and help.  Thanks for stopping by today.

What did you do this weekend?????

This was my yardsale for this weekend, I finally got around to cleanning out my attic and some storage areas in building on property and this is some of my many years accumalation.  Do you think I might need a 12 step program?  Luckily I had a friend who came over and help me drag things down out of the attic.  You never know when you are gonna meet an angel walking on this earth right next to you, I'm so thankful to have such wonderful angels(friends) in my life.  Made alittle moola today but I still have about 3/4 of stuff left.  Anybody want to come to my house for thier own shopping adventure, I'm sure I can hook you up with something from CHristmas, Halloween, Decor, crafts to something Come on I'm not that far away it would be worth the trip and just think if you help me get rid of all this stuff I would be more than happy to sit and crop with you once the tables are all cleared off we would have lots of space to spread out.

No Normal Christmas

I made this card today for a challenge over at http://going-buggy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/september-challenge.html  Thought my card would be a great choice for this challenge as these colors are definitely not your red and green.  The card base is a 5.25 x 7.25, used my scrap pieces with the SU 1 3/8 punch, Season Greetings was stamped in tempting turquise and cut with the spellbinder fancy tags 2, added bow and some of my stickpins, also used the dies from Quilling creations for the small flower on bow.  Thanks for looking another christmas card made if I keep on at this rate I might actually finish my cards on time this year.

Scraps, Scraps, Scraps

Seems like the scrap piles keep getting larger and larger, so I gave myself a challenge today to use up my scraps, every card I made today was done with nothing but scraps.  It was actually nice completing so many cards today I did 10 total, guess that would be  a record for me to make that many cards in one day.  Now I have a stash for myself and am actually thinking since these were so easy and quick I might give some as christmas gifts to friends for their card stashes.
Here is another card I did with my scraps, this one is done on a 6 x6 card base and the mats were cut at 5 3/4 x 5 3/4, 51/2 x 51/2, and 51/4 x 51/4.  I used the SU punch 1 3/8 for the squares, I also used my perferated roller to edge the top layer, sentiment was computer generated, SU label punch, and EK success label punch.  Thank you so much for stopping by hope I have inspired you to use those scraps up.
Come back tomorrow to see my christmas card made with scraps.

Poinsetta Stencil Embossing

My card today was done using the brass stencils, and Dreamweaver Embossing paste.  AFter I was done with the image I handcut it out and popped it onto some mats I had laying in my stash.  Just a quick card, to showcase the poinsetta.  The one on the card I used ink daubers and my ink spots.  You can also color your image with prisma color pencils and do the same technique just gives you a lighter image.  Thanks for looking and enjoy the video.

Double Double Toil & Trouble

Halloween is quickly approaching and the witches have to get all the ingredients for their witches brew.  Better be careful you never know what is lurking around.

I used Happy Hauntings, Oct 31st, and Cricut Craftroom Basics along with CCR to design this card.  I also used paper stack The DCWV The Bewitched.  I'm not a huge fan of halloween but do enjoy some of the festivites of the holiday.  Thanks for not being to scared to enter.

Reuse, Recycle, Repurpose

This project is one that everyone will love if you are doing the stick pins, you need a cute way to show them off.  You can give those cute little pins a nice cushy place to sit while waiting to be used.

I used  an empty 2 litre coke zero bottle, some fabric, buttons, and small flowers, binding tape, dinner size round plate, saucer, and a round breath mint container.
1. Took coke bottle and cut in half, I then trimmed and rounded the back cut slits in sides and curved them and cut much lower in front. Rounded corners.
2. GLued seam binding tape to edges using the 3 n 1 glue. Fold arms down and glue.
3. Took fabric and dinner plate cut one circle, just traced around the round plate cut fabric, sew all round the edges and pull the 2 strings together add stuffing and finish after gathering. Will form the bottom cushion.
4. Take saucer and form the circle for back of chair, do the same technique for gathering for the back, stuff and finish off.
5. Trace around round breath mint container, gather and form a circle do not stuff.
6.Use piercer to polk 2 holes in side of arms on chair, run thread through from inside of chair and through the little yoyo for side pieces tie tight you will cover the knot. Polk 2 holes in back of chair and do the same for back cushion.
7. Add embellishments from flowers to buttons, anything you want to decorate your chair with.  Now you have the cute little chair for your pins to sit patiently waiting on you.  Enjoy

Weekend Projects

Greetings, hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend, I had the pleasure of spending a couple of days with a crafting buddy. Always a good time when spent with friends and crafting projects. The first project was stick pins as they are so much fun to make, great to add to cards and over all just fun to make and they all turn out different. I use the styrofoam cone for drying my pins. When they are wet I hang them upside down so gravity keeps them in place while glue is drying. Then I turn right side up to let me know they are ready for use.
My next project was a cute little pin cushion to keep right by my work station on my desk.  I plan on making a larger one to store all my stick pins in when making cards. I used a small picture frame for this one.
I also made a couple of cards using some stamps from Justrite, the first one is using the Alphabet Soup, I love this background stamp made by Justrite and part of the Amazing Paper Grace designs.  I also used flowers made using the Quilled Creations Dies, Justrite Ever After Antique Labels One for the Happy Anniveresary.
My last project for the weekend was a christmas card, I used stamps and dies from Justrite to make this card. Merry & Bright, and Deck the Halls.  Thanks for looking.

Notepad Alternatives

Hi everyone, sorry it has been so long since I posted anything new, but I took some time away from crafting for a few days and enjoyed time at the beach.  It is a great way when you need a break to come back refreshed and rejuvenated.
My card today is done with a notepad.  While I was in Michaels I saw these really cute note pads in different shapes and colors and thought why couldn't we use them for mats on cards, maybe some of you have already done this but it was new to me so I thought I would share with you today.
This is the notepad I found resembles the spellbinder label die.  Here is the card I made using this along with a stamp from justrite called With Sympathy, and some bling, I also used the MS lattice punch, popdots, ribbon and flat pearls. The roses are from the same stamp and colored with copics and highlighted with glitter pens. Thanks for looking.
