HO HO HO

Sorry it has been a while since I have posted anything, but we had family for thanksgiving and then getting ready for Christmas crafting has been alittle on the back burner.  While it is still my passion other things just took priority as I'm sure most of you understand.

I have made a few of these scarfs for people they are so super easy and can  be done with any color fleece. I started the one on the left for my granddaughter I used 2 layers for hers and they are 4 inches wide.  Take your 2 layers and sew down the middle, then take a peice of painters tape and tape down the center over your seam, then cut every inch up to the tape do not cut tape.  Shake scarfs and twirl this will fluff them up some.  The one on the right was done with 3 pieces of fleece and same thing, I made this one 6 inches wide.  Hope they like them.

Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and hope that santa is extremely good to you.  See you in the new year as I will be spending christmas with family.  Merry CHristmas and a Happy New Year.

Bracelets for Medical Alert

This is what I have been doing this afternoon.  AS I now wear a medical alert braclet and if you have looked at the ones they offer you will realize just how ugly they are.  Guess they figure if you need a bracelet then you can't be fashionable.  Well they are just so wrong every girl know you  have to be in fashion and you need one to match all outfits just like your other jewlery and earrings.  The bottom one is one I purchased from a company called http://www.laurenshope.com/category/87/medical-alert-jewelry-medical-id-bracelets-for-women, she has some gorgeous braclets from kids right on up to adult in men and womens.  But I can't justifiy spending that much on all my bracelets so I used some beads that I had stuck in a container waiting for the right project to come along, I think I found just that project. So I made the top 2 this afternoon,  Now I can be fashionable  and have something pretty to look at also.  Will definitely have to buy more beads now.  Guess that means another shopping trip soon.

Getting ready for christmas

This was a wreath I made today.  Using the deco mesh these are so super easy to make  and quick, you can make them as elaborate as you want or as simple as you want.

Here is what happened over the weekend, as we are gonna be doing some work to our house soon we had to get rid of this tree.  It looks so different now.

2 hours from start to finish and yard cleaned up.  Hate to loose the shade but sometimes there has to be a sacrifice.

Christmas Woodlands

These were some cards I made over the last few days.  The one on the left was stamped with a hero arts stamp called pinecone wreath, added some little bling and poped it up on card.  The 2nd card was done with a stamp from Northwood Rubber stamps cardinals in Pine tree.  This was a fun stamp to use as I used several different things on this stamp from liquid applique, stickles and the colored some in with pencils.  My favorite was the stickles.  Thanks for stopping by.

Witchy Woman

Raven hair, and Ruby lips
Sparks fly from her finger tips
Echoed voices in the night
She's a restless, spirit in an endless flight.

Ooh-hoo, witchy woman
See how high she flies
Ooh-hoo, witchy woman
Shes got the moon in her eyes.

Now that the song witchy woman(from the Eagles) is stuck in your head for the rest of the day these are her new shoes she will be trying out on halloween night.  Better leave some nice comments or she might fly fly and leave some nasty tricks for you on halloween.  Thanks for stopping in.  Happy Halloween

Christmas Spirit

Here are a few things that I've been working on over the last week and at the weekend crop.  The first card is a gatefold card that my friend Lorraine showed me how to do and thanks to her having something that matched my paper she let me have her colored stamp image to finish off my card. Isn't it great when you have friend to crop with and they let you have what you need to finish that certain image that you want.

The next card was done as a make and take at the crop using the Art Philosophy cart for the snowflake and a snowflake saying from one of the current stamps sets from Close to My Heart. It was inked in chocolate brown.
The next one was a card I made using one of the angel company stamps, and a CTMH stamp set for the wording.  I can see this window opening being used for others, sorry to see The Angel company leave us as they had some real cute stamps.

The next one was done using Doodle charms for the snow globe and a Stampin Up set called Warmest of Wishes(Hostess) and some of the cards from Michaels that have the pre-printed fronts.

Well thanks for stopping by hope you enjoyed.  Leave alittle love if you liked my cards.  Thanks see ya next time.

Scrapbook Easel

This is my newest toy and let me tell you I'm loving it.  The Scrapbook Easel makes things more comfortable when you are scrapping, and the magnets hold things into place so you can move them around on your board, it also helps you from loosing pieces and after last weekends crop and cutting several of the same little tiny piece I might have found the answer to my prayers.  LOL  Takes the pressure off your neck from long crops and it has a magnetic ruler for lining things up.  SO while trying this out and rearrangeing some things in my room I found some page kits that I have had for several years and had not put them together yet this one is from the Time Flies page kits.
I also managed to make a few cards today getting in the mood for some cooler weather and getting in that christmas spirit.  Not your traditional colors.

Oh No! Not Gingerbread time

I can not take credit for this card however I did see it in the new cricut Holiday book and thought it was so adorable. On page 37 card was inspired by Michelle Criswell at scrappingwithmybug.com.  Hope she doesn't mind but this just made me laugh when I saw it so here is my version of this card.  I used Jolly Holidays, and some stampin up punches along with the sentiment from the SU set embrace life, card background was out of a predesigned set from Michaels, quick and easy card to put to gether.

Lattice Card

I decided to make a lattice card. I had seen a tutorial over on youtube by vadeler on doing lattice cards with spellbinder dies.  I used elegant edges for the center cutout on the front of the card, along with Stampin Up  bird punch , some quilling papers as they are the perfect size for weaving. And the Happy Birthday image is from a CTMH stamp.  I really like the look of these cards.  Thanks for looking.

Accordian card

This was a card that I saw done on the cricut board, there is a tutorial done over at http://shesasassylady.blogspot.com/  So Ithought I would try one, however my first one didn't turn out right so we started over.  I tried alittle somethiing different with mine since the ovening was gonna be small I used the Tim Holz flower die and cut 3 strips out.  I trimmed one of the strips by taking off the scallopped edge , I then taped all three peices together and folded since it already had the crease line in it.  Used my gypsy to cut out the shape on the front of card put the accordian behind that and added to the front of a card, added some ribbon and flowers.  On the inside I stamped Happy Birthday.

Hot for you

Its amazing what you find when you clean off your workspace.  While doing some rearranging today I came across these cute little hot chocolate holders.  These were some make and takes at the scrapbooking convention that I went to this summer.  So with temps getting cooler these were perfect to make today for those chilly mornings when you just need something to warm those bones.  I plan on making these to give to friends, bank tellers, receptionist and other people you come in contact with where you just want a little something to hand to them.  Enjoy

Studio G Cards

These 2 cards were some that I picked up at Michaels and Walmart, The ghost was from Michaels and so I just wanted to do some quick little things to these cards so I stamped and colored with my copics, inside says Boo where the eyes are and Have a Happy Halloween.  The 2nd card was from Walmart, they now carry alot of studio G products from glitter, stamps, small embellishments and some note cards for 97 cents.  As I have so many stickers and things that aren't really my style, ( you know all that sticker stuff you bought when you first started scrapbooking) well things have changed so I thought what better way to use them than make some quick cards.  The center cutout was already done, so I used a dollar stamp from my collection, ribbon and some stickers.  Real quick and simple even the kiddos could do something like this when they come to visit.  Thanks for looking.

A little like fall

Today is so nice and such a drastic change in the weather, it is only 70 degress today and feels wonderful. So with the little nip in the air I thought this would be perfect for this fall day. I made this center step card and I used flower soft and stickles along with some embelishments that I had on hand.

Here are the instructions for making this card:
Card stock 5 1/2 x 11
Line cardstock up in paper trimmer so that the edge of the card is at the 1" mark. Position the cutting blade at 1" and cut from 1" to 6.5".
Flip card over and do the same on the other side.
Step 2
Place cardstock onto scoring tool and score along the long side of the card from the edge to the cut line at 1", 2" and 6.5".
Step 3
Repeat step 3 on opposite edge of card.
Step 4
Score between cut lines at 5 1/2".
Step 5
Fold at the score lines. The first, third and center score lines are mountain folds. The second score line is a valley fold. Reinforce score lines to make folds crisp.

Step 6
Stamp and decorate your card as desired.
Change it up
Vary the width of the center panel or the two side panels by adjusting the width of the card that you start with. Thanks for stopping by .

Flower Shop

This was done for a weekly challenge on the Cricut Circle, actually when I got this cart I wasn't sure I would really like it. But it does make some really cute flowers and very easy to use. These were cut at 3 1/4 and 2 3/4. I also used some pearl swirls and the butterfly is a stampin up punch.

Easel Birthday Card

While I have been extremely busy the last few days, I did manage to find time to make a card.
I was busy working on over 200 cards for a friend of mine who has ovarian cancer. They wanted a project that the ladies could do while sitting and getting their chemo treatments. I offered to cut everything for the cards for these amazing women. My cricut sure was tired afterwards, 200 3inch ribbons, 200 1 inch ribbons, butterflies, and flowers along with the words and word window punch frame for the word windows. I hope they enjoy making them as much as I did doing all the work for them. They are finished and being shipped out asap after the storm. Hope everyone is safe during this storm Irene.

On to my card I made today.

1. You will need one sheet of 8 1/2" x 11" card stock.
2. Use a paper trimmer to make a card base of 4 1/4" x 8 1/2".
3. Fold the card base in half to create a 4 1/4" square card.
4. With the card closed and the fold on the left, score the card front from the bottom left corner of the card to the top right corner.
5. Fold the scored corner down to make the easel.
6. Embellish your card as desired. Just make sure the element on the front of your card is adhered to the bottom right portion of the card front and not the entire front. Use a brad, small flat embellishment (which I used in this picture), button, punched scallop or any other small accessory to prop the easel.
7. This card will also fold flat so you can put it in a square envelope.
This was super quick and makes a stunning card, hardest part is deciding how to embellish your front of the card.

Organizing Ribbon

After having so many cards of ribbon, small spools, loose ribbon, ribbon scattered everywhere and just a huge mess I think I have found a solution to get rid of all the mess everywhere and beleive it or not takes up very little space. I found this ribbon container at Michaels over in their plastic storage section, the container was $10 and used a coupon. Best $5 I think I have spent in along time. A friend gave me a lot of chipboard peices that were like 12 x 14. I took and cut them down to 4 x4 squares. While watching tv or watching shows with DH for the last few days I have been winding ribbon. I can do the cards by season, color, theme, and then when working on a project I will know exactly what I have to use. I do have some on spools that I will not do this too but for all the odd peices and cards and little spools this works great.
All you need is some chipboard cut to 4 x 4 size, scotch tape to secure to chipboard, and I used painters tape to secure the end peice. This is working great so far. Hope you like this.

Ready for some cooler weather

It is so hot here, I'm ready for cooler weather. So thought I would mentally think that it was cool outside with some fall projects. The milk carton is from a template that I have and the spiderweb punch is one of Martha Stewarts new punches, also the window punch came with the set. I purchase it in a set from HSN. Thanks for looking.

Beach Layouts

It has been so long since I did a scrapbook page, thought I should maybe try a few to get back into the swing of things. How can you not love doing beach layouts they are so fun and relaxing. Makes you want stick your toes in the sand.
