Using my stash for Cards

Trying to make cards with my stash (hoard) you know sometimes it is so hard to use what you have cause it might be the only one and you don't want to get rid of it.  But I have decided it was meant to be used and not hoarded, so Im gonna really try to use my stash then that will give me a reason to buy more. Enjoy the cards, I have had fun actually sitting and crafting the last few days.

Some of my Christmas Cards

I used the Anna Griffin Christmas card set to make most of these cards, fairly quick and super  easy. Since I'm trying to be alittle a head of the game this year and get all my cards done early.  I made 2 of each card tonite. This was a pretty cool kit as it had all the pieces were already cut to size so it was just having to put them together. Sorry some of my pictures didn't turn out that great I didn't have all my lighting set up. Thanks for stopping in today.

Poinsetta Ornament Card

Todays card was made with one of the poinsetta ornaments from Walmart they are 97 cents and come in some pretty colors like pink, red, purple, blue and silver.  The card base is a 5 x7 card, I also used the Spellbinders die Resplendent Rectangles the 2 largest dies for the red and white background, I then used the 2nd from the smallest for the smaller red piece and then used one of the tags from Fancy tags 2, stamped Merry Christmas with a dollar stamp from Michaelspopped it up & added a bow and some brads for alittle in the center.  I did cut the poinsetta apart and glued it down.  Thanks for looking and now I'm one card closer to having my cards done.

No Normal Christmas

I made this card today for a challenge over at http://going-buggy.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/september-challenge.html  Thought my card would be a great choice for this challenge as these colors are definitely not your red and green.  The card base is a 5.25 x 7.25, used my scrap pieces with the SU 1 3/8 punch, Season Greetings was stamped in tempting turquise and cut with the spellbinder fancy tags 2, added bow and some of my stickpins, also used the dies from Quilling creations for the small flower on bow.  Thanks for looking another christmas card made if I keep on at this rate I might actually finish my cards on time this year.

Happy Holidays with Old St Nick

Thanks for stopping in to see my next Christmas card using the A Quilted Christmas, if you haven't seen this cart thats ok I have a video showing all the images.  You will love it as much as I do when you see it.  I like the fact that PC has come out with some carts that are more grown up instead of so many kiddie carts, don't get me wrong I love them too.  Just nice to see more elegant images.  This card I used the card feature but left it opened instead of folding in half.  I cut image at 5.75.  I used a 6 x 9 card base.  Used my MS Cherished border punch added a little ribbon and the Happy Holidays is actually a gift tag I got on clearance last year, though the colors went well with it.  Snowflakes are buttons.  The santa actually has a piece of paper behind it that I ran through the xyron and added glitter for alittle more pop.  Thanks for stopping in, hope I have given you some inspiration to start on your Christmas cards too.

Baby Jesus

What reminds you of Christmas more than the baby Jesus.  It brings a sense of peace just seeing that baby lying there in the manger.

I'm having so much fun with this new cart A quilted Christmas, I just love the images.  I used the manger on page 49 cut at 4.5 inches, I used the silhouette image.  I also used the Inspired Heart for the word Jesus.  Card base is 6 x 8 in order to get image to fit.  The ribbon is gathered that came from Hobby Lobby and some little pink bows were from my stash.  I did glitter the bottom of the manger.  The inside I used different size mats and the wording I just typed on my computer and cut out with the spellbinder die Lattice Retangles.  Thank you for stopping by to look at my Christmas in July Cards.  More to Come so make sure you come back and feel free to leave comments, I love hereing from my followers and I love new followers to so if you aren't a follower  please sign on to  follow my blog.

Christmas In July

Christmas is coming!  Christmas is coming!  We only have 163 days left till Christmas, got get busy making the Christmas cards.  IF you guys are like me sometimes you wait till the last minute to make your CHristmas cards so I decided for once I'm gonna try and be ahead this year and have them done early.  Wish me Luck. Last year I waited so late that not everyone got one of my homemade cards, while I thought to myself they won't really notice if it is store bought and little to my surprise everyone was asking wheres my card, you gave store bought cards this year, that made me feel very special that they look forward to my cards.  So For the next 2 weeks I will be making several different Christmas cards so please check back often to see whats new.

Today's card was made using a new cartridge called A Quilted Christmas, I love all the detail and designs on this cartridge, I see this being used alot.  I like making 6 x 6 cards that is what my base card is I then cut the image at 5.5 image is on page 29, I also used the Martha Stewart branch punch for my garland, orange and red stickles for the flames on candles and berries on garland, The gingerbread men, wreath, stockings, and small trees are buttons.  You can find so many unique items too enhance your cards or layouts in the pre-packaged button section at your local craft store.  (Don't forget to invest in a shank remover for like $5-6, makes cutting the backs off super easy and no chance of cutting fingers with a knife).  Stamp sentiment is from CTMH.  Thanks for looking and be sure to come back.

Christmas Woodlands

These were some cards I made over the last few days.  The one on the left was stamped with a hero arts stamp called pinecone wreath, added some little bling and poped it up on card.  The 2nd card was done with a stamp from Northwood Rubber stamps cardinals in Pine tree.  This was a fun stamp to use as I used several different things on this stamp from liquid applique, stickles and the colored some in with pencils.  My favorite was the stickles.  Thanks for stopping by.
